Every now and then I stock up on fresh flowers for my studio to study and paint. Drawing straight onto the paper with paint and calligraphy brushes (no sketching first) allows me to capture the fleeting nature and energy of cut flowers. My botanical works shift from expressive paintings from life to more stylized incarnations in retro vases.

I am interested in how water affects line and the refraction created within a glass vessel.
